ONELOVE STATEMENT OF FAITH

We believe the Bible to be the inspired, infallible, authoritative Word of God. (All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. 2 Tim 3:16)

We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. 1 John 5:7)

We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His atoning death, in His blood shed, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension, and in His personal return in power and glory. (For God so loved the world, that
he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16)

We believe that salvation comes through faith in Jesus Christ who by His bloodshed atoned for the sin of mankind. (Jesus said to him, “I AM the way, the truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” John 14:6-7)

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit who indwells the disciple of Jesus and allows the follower to live out a life according to God’s purposes and callings. (You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ. Romans 8:9; But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. Galatians 5:22-23)

We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation. (Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?” John 11:25-26; This is evidence of the righteous judgment of God, that you may be considered worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you are also suffering— since indeed God considers it just to repay with affliction those who afflict you, and to grant relief to you who are afflicted as well as to us, when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with his mighty angels in flaming fire, inflicting vengeance on those who do not know God and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. They will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might 2 Thessalonians 1:5-9)

We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ. (I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me. John 17:23)
