Dear One Love Supporters,

In July, One Love celebrated our first anniversary!  As new non-profiteers entering into

unchartered  territory, we were navigating with eyes wide open and an abundance of faith.  This year was one filled with joy, heart ache, hard work and perseverance.  We have learned a thing or two along the way and have thus decided to make a small change to the way we structure our monthly support.

One thing we love about One Love (and we think you will too) is that there are no salaries paid from our general operating budget.  We run completely on volunteer support, ensuring that your contributions go directly to educating, enriching, and empowering our constituents in Ethiopia.  We have over 200 students and 30 staff members at the current preschool One Love supports, Love Ethiopia Academy.  The students receive education, a nutritious meal, and clean water for their families as a part of their monthly tuition.

This school plays a critical role in the community in allowing parents the opportunity to work during the day to support their families. Empowering parents means children are able to stay with their families rather than be abandoned to the street or an orphanage.  Parents are less likely to be desperate enough to turn to the back breaking work of fuel wood carrying up and down the mountain.  By giving children early education in a loving environment they experience the confidence and value that education instills.  Many receive the only meal they eat all day at the school.  Entire families are provided with clean water.  The list goes on and on.  The school is a community that supports one another and every child at the school needs your help!

When starting One Love we followed suit with many other non-profits of this nature and matched donors up with individual students.  We have decided to change this aspect of our structure because we feel it will be more beneficial to the entire student body of Love Ethiopia Academy.

In September, the beginning of the 2017-18 school year, we are asking our monthly donors to make a change from sponsoring an individual child to becoming a monthly supporter of the entire school program. This will provide all of the necessary benefits (education, nutrition, water, uniforms, school supplies, etc.) to every child at the school.  As a monthly supporter, 100% of your donation will go directly to Love Ethiopia Academy in Ethiopia.

We know that many of you have become attached to your specific child, which is easy to do – they are wonderful children!  If you would like to continue to connect with a specific child, we would be happy to provide you with a picture and some basic information for a current student at the school so you can be praying for them with your family. We will also be taking a care package to each of the 200 students at the school when we visit, so if you enjoyed sending gifts, this is a project in which we would love your help.

In October we are taking a team to visit the Academy in Ethiopia.  One of our main missions while we are there is to collect stories and pictures of students and their families that we can share with you throughout  the year.  All of our families live in difficult situations and we would love for you to know more about the people you are helping with your monthly donation.  Look for those stories to begin in late 2017!

We thank you for your support of One Love.  If you have any questions about this or any other aspect of the organization, please do not hesitate to contact us.

In His Love,

Kit & Mandy Bradshaw Jared & Megghan St. Aubyn Co-Founders
